An adventurous ride that will you have you laugh from beginning to end, a blasting and thrillingly roller coaster that has everything one seeks in movies of these genres, and a little more.
It has been twenty-two years since Jumanji came out, a true classic ‘till this day, and it was a blast to finally once again be able to be a part of the new adventure. This time, not only welcoming new faces but also a more modern twist to the story and plot.
Four teens, while stuck in detention discovers an old tv-game and get sucked into the jungle where the game plays out and become the avatars they chose. They must now work together to break the curse of Jumanji; the only way for the game to come to an end, and so they can return back home.
It is humor all the way out, I laughed several times throughout, the chemistry between the cast truly shines in every scene, and you will have a joy watching them all together in the beautiful place and scenery that is the jungle.
Don’t walk into the theater expecting it to be a remake of the original, you’ll only start comparing them, and it ain’t what this movie is.
For two hours, put the old version to the side, and enjoy this film with a pair of brand new eyes and an open heart and mind. It won’t be the Jumanji you remember and loved so much, but it won’t disappoint you. 7/10
